Car finance customers offered eco-friendly option

09/06/2008

Soon car finance customers could have the option to go green, with a range of new electric cars that are currently being developed. The recent spike in fuel prices have made life difficult for many car finance customers, so news of a more efficient, wallet-friendly option may be of interest to many. A new partnership has recently been created which concentrates on the development of electrically-powered engines. The partnership has been developed between German car company Volkswagen (VW) and the Japanese electronics firm Sanyo. They aim to have lithium-ion battery technology cars available as part of the new VW fleet by 2010. These could be the answer for any car finance customer who values the environment, and wants to avoid the ever-increasing squeeze of the spiralling fuel costs. VW chief executive Professor Martin Winterkorn explained that the development of more eco-friendly vehicles was integral to VWs future. This announcement follows consumer demands for cleaner, greener vehicles. Professor Winterkorn said: "Our focus in future will be directed more strongly at making electrically-powered automobiles alongside ones driven by more efficient combustion engines."
