Ford Focus recommended for car loan customers

What Car's first ever Green Awards have crowned the Ford Focus as Green Car of the Year. There were 24 types of car up for the award, but the Focus clinched it.

The eco-friendly qualities of the car make it a fine choice for car loan customers, because 'Green' cars tend to cost less to run.

The Ford Focus win - and indeed the creation of the Green Awards - all point to an increasing level of popularity of environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Duncan McClure Fisher from Warranty Direct thinks the credit crunch has a lot to do with it: "Fuel prices have certainly focused the consumer's mind", he said. "One thing is for sure, the choices available are expanding all the time and it's encouraging to see a clear pattern of change from the manufacturers."

Car loan customers may also be interested in considering a BMW (depending on the size of the loan!) A special editor's award was given to BMW at the British International Motorshow this week, for its Efficient Dynamics technology.

The Green Awards took place in the Greener Driving Pavilion at the British International Motorshow.
